Barre Fire Department

The mission of the Barre Fire Department is to minimize the loss of life, property, and the environment from fires, natural disasters, hazardous materials incidents, and life threatening situations.  This is achieved through fire suppression, emergency medical response, disaster management, fire prevention, and public education, provided by a dedicated and well trained force.

 

 

Overview:

The Barre Fire department stands ready to provide 24/7 emergency response to the citizens of the town of Barre.  The Department currently operates out of 3 stations with a fleet of 4 Engine companies, 1 Ladder Company, 1 Heavy Rescue company, 2 ALS ambulances, various support equipment, with a combination staff of 50 members.

Open Burning

Open burning season runs from January 15th to May 1st.  All residents wishing to burn must purchase a residential burning permit.  Permits can be purchased online using the following link. Permits can also be purchased in person at Fire Station 1.
