The West Brookfield Board of Selectmen will hold a Public Hearing during their meeting on March 31, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the West Brookfield Town Hall, located at 2 East Main Street, West Brookfield, MA. The public is encouraged to attend this hearing to discuss a joint FY 2026 application by the towns of West Brookfield, East Brookfield, Barre, and Hardwick for up to $1,350,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities. In the event the meeting is canceled, the hearing will be rescheduled during the Planning Board’s meeting on April 6th, 2026, at 6 PM.

2026 Annual Town Election

Following are the upcoming deadlines and additional Town Clerk office hours for the 2026 Annual Town Election to be held Monday, April 6th:

 

The last day and time to register to vote will be Friday, March 27 by 5pm.

The last day and time to request a vote by mail ballot will be 5pm on Monday, March 30th.

The last day and time for voters who qualify, to vote in person by Absentee Ballot is Friday, April 3rd by 5pm.

 

The Town Clerk’s Office, located at 40 West St., Basement, will be open on each of the above deadline dates from 9am to 5pm.

Phishing Scam

Some of the Town of Barre's email accounts have been compromised. If you receive an email stating someone from the Town sent you a One Drive file share, please do not enter your credentials as it is a scam. Simply delete the email.

If you did receive an email stating it was a One Drive file share and you did enter your username and password, we recommend you change your username and password to safeguard them.

 

Community Development Block Grant Income Survey

The neighborhood of Oak and Elm Streets is being considered for infrastructure related improvements through the Community Development Block Grant program from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities.

The Town is working with the Central MA Regional Planning Commission to collect household income information to determine funding eligibility in accordance with the program regulations. There is no identifying information sought as part of the survey, without which the Town will not be eligible to receive funding.

A letter and survey have been mailed to the residents of Oak and Elm Streets on behalf of the Town. Please take the time to complete and return the survey so we are eligible for this important grant.
